OnePlus has become one of the leading smartphone brands recently. Its first phone OnePlus One was a huge success. Very soon, the company came up with its second device, OnePlus Two. The demand was absolutely crazy. Initially, the phone could be purchased only if you had an invitation. However, they had lifted the invitation rule and made it available to everyone. Apart from that, they also reduced the price to just £249, making it one of the most affordable high end devices. Features and specification wise, it is as good as any other high end device, but the price is almost half than their competitors. Some of the notable specifications include a powerful Snapdragon processor, 4 gigabytes of RAM, a huge storage of 64 gigabytes and also a large display. After writing this One Plus 2 review I have to say it was undoubtedly the best flagship device of 2015, leaving behind its competitors such as Motorola and HTC.
- Low price
- Amazing Spec
- Customisable OS
- Fantastic display
- Dual Sim
- Fingerprint Sensor
- No microSD slot
- Non-removable battery
- Low speaker volume
It comes with the Snapdragon 810 chipset, which is extremely fast. Along with that, its huge 4GB RAM makes it one of the fastest performing devices in any price range. You can easily switch between the apps. Even if you open a lot of apps together, there is no sign of a lag. In some of the benchmark tests like Geekbench 3 multicore tests, it had an impressive score of 4744. It only lost out to the extremely high priced Galaxy phones.
It comes with a huge 3300 mAh battery, hence battery life is pretty awesome. You can use the phone throughout the day, and you will still find enough charge left by the time you reach home. Apart from that, it also comes with the new technology of Type C charging. The charging port here is different from what we see in most other standard Android devices. Like most high end devices, it comes with the Quick Charge feature. Hence, you can charge your phone in no time.

It has a massive screen measuring around 5.5 inch. Such a big phone may be difficult to handle and is not everyone’s cup of tea. But the designers have done a great job. They have tried to make it as comfortable as possible. You can easily hold it with one hand, and the grip is also comfortable. It comes with their typical sandstone black cover, which is not bad. But there are better back covers available in their official website. For example, you can try out the Bamboo back cover. It looks great on this phone. There is a volume slider button towards the left, which allows you to navigate easily between the different sound profiles.
It comes with a high resolution display. With such a huge screen size, it is difficult to get the perfect results, but they have done a good job. However, you can argue, that in terms of display, its competitor MotoX Play has done a better job. The colours are not very clear, but still you can enjoy all the high resolution movies and TV shows comfortably. The sunlight readability is also good, you can easily operate it outdoors. Plus, the viewing angles are also impressive. But the screen easily gets dirty, and the fingerprint marks are clearly visible. Hence, you have to clean it frequently. In short, the display may not be the best, but it is still better than most other phones in this price range.

Since it comes with enough RAM, the gaming experience is great. Casual games like Temple Run and Subway Surfers run excellently. Apart from that, high end games like Asphalt also runs very smoothly. You can play them in the high graphic mode, and still there will be no lag.
What makes this phone stand out from the others, it its excellent Oxygen OS. It is much better than the standard Android OS, that we see in most phones. It allows you to customise the phone as per your preference, and also provides some excellent features. In most phones, you have to press the physical button on the side of the phone to unlock it. But here, you just have to double tap on the screen to unlock it. It also has a Dark Mode, which makes it easier to operate in the night. However, the stand out feature is that it allows you to modify the permissions of the different apps. For example, if you want one of your apps to not have access to your address book or messages, you can simply disable it and still continue using the app.
The connectivity features are decent. It comes with the latest version of Bluetooth and also supports fast WiFi. It does not have the NFC feature, but that is pretty rare and shouldn’t be a deal breaker. The fingerprint scanner also works very well.
It comes with a thirteen Megapixel camera. While 13 MP may not sound great, but the photos are extremely good. The colors are very bright and the photos look extremely crisp and full of details. The shutter speed is also extremely fast, and there is no noise. It doesn’t have a huge variety of shooting modes. But, the HDR mode is great, and allows you to click some awesome pictures. At the front it has a 5MP camera, which lets you click some good selfies. You can also shoot some high quality videos with it.
The camera also does a good job in indoor conditions. While most cameras struggle in low light situations, it clicks some crisp images. The new update is expected to come with a new manual mode, which will make the experience even better.
The audio quality may not be excellent, but it still does a fairly good job. The speakers are quite loud and also clear. You can comfortably watch movies and TV shows.
Overall, it is arguably the best phone you can buy at this price range. In terms of value for money, no other phone comes even close. Maybe in terms of battery and display, MotoX does a better job, but OnePlus Two is much ahead in terms of camera and performance. No one can match this phone in terms of specifications. This is the reason, why it was one of the most purchased phones in the year 2015. And now, since they have removed the invitation only option, it is much easier to buy one.
